जननी जन्मभूमिश्च स्वर्गादपि गरियसी''कुपुत्रो जायते क्वचिदपि कुमाता न भवति’

The Sanskrit verses mentioned above have taken the mother and grandmother. In the Scriptures, the mother is found in a higher place than the father. Thus, the children offer tribute, devotion, respect, along with sweets and delicacies to their mother and receive blessings. Due to special devotion and emotionally honored mother, this day is called Mother's Day. This day is also known as Maternal Day.

Most of us have the first words spoken "The Mother". Mothers are the stream of happiness and so, Mother’s Day is an auspicious day. Mothers are the holiest and sacred persons in the world. This is an important day where we worship our mother for all what she has done for us. This day is celebrated all over the world to mark the importance of mothers, Grandmothers and other maternal personalities. They are the mines of happiness, inspirers and path directors.
Mother's Day

Mother’s Day in Nepal is also known as “Maata Tirtha Aunsi” and is observed on Baisakh Krishna Aunsi every year.  Just like Father’s Day, Mother’s Dayis observed by offering gifts and delicacies to mothers. People are found going to their mother’s home with a bag full of gifts and delicious dishes for their mother. They buy clothes, sweets, and fruits for their mothers.

Those who do not meet mother for various reasons also get through the means of communication. People also express emotional memories through social networks. The importance of mothers can never be explained in words and Mother’s Day is a day to commemorate their importance.

Mothers are the ocean of love and skies of sacrifices. We will always be indebted to our mothers no matter whatever we gift, offer or say them. When during our happy days, we might not have remembered our mother but when we are in sorrows, we don’t wait to tell them. That is because we trust our mother that she will be something out for a solution. Her immense love and care never decrease and treats all her children equally.
Mother's Day

Mother’s Day is celebrated to commemorate this tremendous love and sacrifice of the mother. Motherhood might be one of the best experiences for females but it is one of the sorrowful lives that every female life and no one in this world can match that. It is to respect all those abilities of mothers that we celebrate Mother’s Day. One who has lost his/ her mother or is an orphan will better understand the need of a mother.

The bringing up of a child, nurturing him/ her, socializing him/ her and building his/ her attitudes and attires depends upon mother. We were born in this world and she is the first one who holds us in her warm, love full of the chest. Whenever we feel that we have fallen or something has dropped us down in life, we get to our mother and in her lap, we forget all those and get tremendous energy to rise up again. That is the power of motherly love. So, to mark that power, we celebrate Mother’s Day.

No matter how we treat her in her old age and when we are able to self-sustain, she always treats us with the same love and cares that she used to treat years back. For a mother, 80 years old one is always a little child and she again tries to guide that child. It is to salute that motherhood, that we celebrate Mother’s Day.
