Reliability of Secondary data

Before using the secondary data, the following things should be checked to test its reliability:
  • Who collected the data?, What were the objectives of collecting data?
  • Whether the investigator was experienced, capable, unbiased or not?
  • Whether the appropriate techniques of collecting data were applied or not?
  • What degree of accuracy was maintained in the data?
  • Was the accuracy of the data checked?
  • In which time period and in what circumstances were the data collected?
